Presentation "Causing Factors of Juvenile Offenses"
10 February, 2010. The meeting will be held in Rustavi Rehabilitation Center in the framework of the project “Establishing Rehabilitative Schemes for Juvenile Offenders in Georgia”. The juvenile probationers, participating in the project, will present the results of the research regarding the causing factors of offense among juveniles.

A working meeting is organized by Penal Reform International (PRI) in the framework of the project ’Small Grants Initiative’. The project is sponsored by Norwegian Mission of Rule of Law Advisers to Georgia (NORLAG) and is being implemented by PRI.

A Joint Meeting of Community Service Working Groups (15.12.09)
Penal Reform International (PRI) is organizing a joint meeting of the Working Groups that were created within the project ‘Promoting the Use of Community Service in Georgia’. The project is being implemented by PRI, with the financial support from the Norwegian Mission of Rule of Law Advisers to Georgia (NORLAG).

Penal Reform International

PRI is an international non-governmental organization founded in 1989. The Head Office (www.penalreform.org) is located in London. PRI works on penal and criminal justice reform worldwide.

PRI has regional programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the South Caucasus and North America. PRI has also worked with partner organisations in South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
 

PRI South Caucasus

 
The PRI Regional Office in the South Caucasus was set up in 2001 (officially registered in May 2003) and is located in Tbilisi. The South Caucasus Office works on penal reform in three countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
The Office is led by a Regional Director, who reports to the PRI Executive Director in London. The number of staff varies according to the programmes, and PRI’s priorities and responsibilities. PRI South Caucasus works closely with international experts, employing them for various activities on an ad hoc basis.

PRI works very closely with penal reform activists, NGOs and governments, as well as inter-governmental organisations. Working with civil society is central to PRI’s programme activities and PRI actively supports the greater involvement of civil society in criminal justice reform.

Regional programme

The purpose of PRI’s programme is to support the reform process of the criminal justice systems in the South Caucasus by assisting government structures in their development and by strengthening the capacity of local NGOs. Our regional programme includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  •      Juvenile justice
  •      Civil society involvement
  •      Restorative justice
