Presentation "Causing Factors of Juvenile Offenses"

10 February, 2010. The meeting will be held in Rustavi Rehabilitation Center in the framework of the project “Establishing Rehabilitative Schemes for Juvenile Offenders in Georgia”. The juvenile probationers, participating in the project, will present the results of the research regarding the causing factors of offense among juveniles.

Working Meeting within “Small Grants Initiative” (16.12.09)

A working meeting is organized by Penal Reform International (PRI) in the framework of the project ’Small Grants Initiative’. The project is sponsored by Norwegian Mission of Rule of Law Advisers to Georgia (NORLAG) and is being implemented by PRI.

A Joint Meeting of Community Service Working Groups (15.12.09)

Penal Reform International (PRI) is organizing a joint meeting of the Working Groups that were created within the project ‘Promoting the Use of Community Service in Georgia’. The project is being implemented by PRI, with the financial support from the Norwegian Mission of Rule of Law Advisers to Georgia (NORLAG).

Project on Probation

Penal Reform International together with European Commission Penitentiary and Probation Reform Project (PPRP) launched a project. The aim of the project is promotion of the Georgian Probation Service and discussion of problems and perspectives related to the issue. To achieve these goals PRI is holding round table conferences in different regions of Georgia, all together 10 of these kind of meetings are planned.

At the round table conferences representatives of local probation bureau attend, as well as local regional courts, prosecutor’s office, police, representatives of local NGOs, mass media and etc.

During meetings presentation of the new Probation Law is made. Discussions take place on the role of probation in the regions of Georgia and also regarding collaboration with different governmental and non-governmental organizations. Other important part of the discussions is development of probationers’ rehabilitation and review of the various problems and perspectives that they face.
