A Working Meeting within the Project “Small Grants Initiative” A working meeting is organized by Penal Reform International (PRI) in the framework of the project ’Small Grants Initiative’. The project is sponsored by Norwegian Mission of Rule of Law Advisers to Georgia (NORLAG) and is being implemented by PRI. The representatives of PRI and NORLAG, as well as the representatives from the Penitentiary Department and National Probation Service and those Non-governmental Organizations that are implementing the projects within Small Grants Initiative in penitentiary establishments and probation bureaus, are participating in the working group. During the working meeting the representatives of PRI will make a presentation about the carried out work and activities within the projects and talk about future plans. The presentations will also be made by the representatives from the Penitentiary Department and Tbilisi Probation Bureau. They will talk about the positive sides of the projects being implemented in Penitentiary and Probation systems and the problems that were encountered during the implementation process. Presentations will also be made by the representatives of Grantee Non-governmental Organizations about the challenges and difficulties met during the project implementation process and about the positive sides and overall impact of the projects. By the end of the meeting the participants will work in small groups to discuss the importance of existence of rehabilitative programs for the convicts in the penitentiary and probation systems. The groups will also work together on future plans. A presentation will be made by small groups after they finish working and joint recommendations will be prepared. *** |
