Trainings for Social Workers in Kutaisi

11 May. 2009. Kutaisi, Georgia. Trainings for social workers of the newly established rehabilitation centre for children in conflict with the law will take place from 12th until 22nd of May, 2009 in Kutaisi, and will be led by Geoff Wright, Social Work Consultant invited from the Children’s Legal Centre (CLC), University of Essex, UK.

Job Vacancy - Project Coordinator

PRI is announcing a vacancy for the position of a Project Coordinator for the UNICEF funded project “Support to the Reform of the Juvenile Justice System in Georgia”. Under this project PRI provides rehabilitation services to juvenile probationers in three pilot areas: Rustavi, Kutaisi and Batumi.

Kutaisi. Georgia. 27 April. 2009. On 27 April, at 15:00, at the Kutaisi Mayor’s Office (Conference Hall, 4th floor), UNICEF and Penal Reform International (PRI) will launch the third rehabilitative pilot centre in Kutaisi as alternatives to the detention of juveniles.

Roundtable meeting in Rustavi

On November 27th, 2007 in Rustavi City Hall Penal Reform International held a Roundtable event aimed at supporting rehabilitative diversion and alternative sentencing for juveniles in Rustavi. The program is financed by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in cooperation with UNICEF and the Government of Georgia.

PRI working on a Film

On February 20, 2008 PRI held a meeting with the representatives of the Ombudsman’s office, Georgian young Lawyers Association and Georgian Centre for Medical and Psycho-social Rehabilitation (GCRT) to set up an editorial board for a documentary film on monitoring places of detention to be produced under the PRI’s project “Prevention of Torture in Georgia” funded by EU.
