Meeting with Swedish Experts at PRI Office
On February 22, PRI met with Swedish probation experts: Cecilia Algelius and Per Bjorkgren, who have been conducting training and development work with the Probation Department in Tbilisi on risk and needs assessment and individual sentence planning.

New Developments regarding National Prevention Mechanism and Anti-Torture Action Plan
PRI and other observer members of the Inter Agency Anti –Torture Council have met on February 19 to discuss how they could assist officials in re-activating this body, which has been tasked by the president with supporting development of an National (Torture) Prevention Mechanism (NPM) and developing an Anti-Torture Action Plan.

Working meeting on “Criminal Justice Issues in Georgian Journalism”

Job Vacancy - Project Coordinator
PRI is announcing a vacancy for the position of a Project Coordinator for the UNICEF funded project “Support to the Reform of the Juvenile Justice System in Georgia”. Under this project PRI provides rehabilitation services to juvenile probationers in three pilot areas: Rustavi, Kutaisi and Batumi.

Roundtable meeting in Rustavi
On November 27th, 2007 in Rustavi City Hall Penal Reform International held a Roundtable event aimed at supporting rehabilitative diversion and alternative sentencing for juveniles in Rustavi. The program is financed by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in cooperation with UNICEF and the Government of Georgia.
